Easter 2016 continued the trend of the 'Year of the Vegan' with Google searches in the UK for "vegan Easter eggs" up more than 60 percent on last year to their highest ever level. The data from Google shows one in 50 searches are for vegan Easter eggs, which was double the amount of searches for "dark chocolate Easter eggs".
Chocolate companies have been creative and are able to produce dairy-free Easter eggs which taste exactly like (or better than!) the regular Easter eggs we are used to seeing on the supermarket shelves.
More consumers are opting for vegan Easter eggs as they can be eaten with the knowledge that no cows suffered to produce the ingredients.
Companies analyse the data from Google Trends carefully when deciding which products to produce next year and to predict demand, so we're sure in 2017 there will be a much greater selection of vegan easter eggs on the market for consumers to purchase. This year they all sold out so fast you were very lucky if you got your hands on one!
Another great indication that we are slowly moving towards a more caring and compassionate world!
